Don't you just hate it when things fail to go your way? The Anglican Bishop of Lichfield attacked the late Pope's legacy this week, claiming that he appointed too many "conservative" (read: those who adhere to RC doctrine) cardinals. "His practice of replacing ecumenically-minded or modern-thinking bishops with very conservative ones has led to a trail of destruction in parts of Europe and South America." Pray tell, mine Anglican friend, where this "trail of destruction" is found in South America with its ongoing Catholic boom? Or in Europe, which has been madly secularizing for over a century? And the Union-Leader has a perspicacious editorial this morning, pointing out the inanity of polling Catholics and somehow connecting that to Church doctrine and direction.
